Winter course – Introduction to beekeeping in the UK

A course for members of the public interested in bees and beekeeping. The aim is to raise the awareness of bees and other pollenators in members of the public and to act as the initial, theoretical basis for those who are interested enough to want to become practical beekeepers.

Week 1: An introduction to beekeeping in the UK. Covering what is a bee, how important bees are, problems facing pollinators, beekeeping history, ethics of beekeeping along with a who’s who of government and legislation
